Herb & Butter Vermicelli
For a quick and easy one pot side dish, try this light and herbaceous pasta.
4oz. Dried Vermicelli, broken into thirds
1 1/2 C. Water
1 Tbsn. Butter, Salted
1 Tbsn. Fresh Oregano, chopped
2 Tbsn. Fresh Basil, chopped
1 Tbsn. Fresh Key Lime Juice (or lime juice)
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
Place all ingredients (except reserving 1 T. Basil for the end) in pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook without lid to pasta manufacturers timing. Stir occasionally. When there is one minute left to cooking time add second T. Basil and stir.
Sauce will thicken as pasta cooks. Turn off heat and let sit for 2-3 minutes before serving.
